Hey, someone help me out on another question, please. I don't want to argue, I just want to know if I'm reading something correct--any and all of you could tell me and I'd accept your viewpoint.

It's the Panel backs Planning Commission article.

Thanks.

In her defense, a program glitch does not mean other counties would have had the same problem as the other counties don't use the program. The program she uses is highly outdated. Even still, that's one more thing we should fix. The internet age is here and we are vastly unprepared even don't meet state minimum requirements.

Questioner. That's one I my biggest issues. My minor is in computer internet security. Fact is, when cauv changed this year, they needed to be double checked before going out. This is 2-3 months of backup in the office. A power surge cannot destroy a program or recalculate it. It was a lack of administrative oversight. This adde to the fact that the state audit said the office needed new equipment and she called it a minor recommendation. That's my biggest goal, we need to meet the state demands and she has continually not passed audits for years. I will know more details Monday but this is costing us the most valuable resource. Time. Would have never happened in my office I can assure that.

How much will the following cost us:

There are about 1,900 property owners enrolled in the CAUV program involving 4,454 parcels of land. Milliken's staff has begun manually checking each of the parcels to determine if they were assigned the correct soil value,

a process that Is expected to take two to three months to complete. !!!!!

CAUV corrections made over the next two weeks will be forwarded to the affected property owner in the form of a new amended first-half tax bill from the county treasurer's office. Treasurer Linda Bolon said she purchased teal-colored bills specifically for this purpose so as to reduce any confusion with the original tax bills, which are another color. These property owners will be asked to pay the amended bill and disregard their original tax bill.

So no comments about today's SN article "Tax glitch hits farm values"?

I will say, whenever a problem is blamed on a "computer glitch" I have my reservations. If it was a computer program glitch, wouldn't other counties have had the same problem?

"A computer glitch resulted in an unknown number of property owners being taxed at the old CAUV rate.

Milliken said they have a computer program that was supposed to automatically update the CAUV to reflect the new soil values."

Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken said her staff discovered the problem last week and they have begun working to correct the mistakes and make the necessary property tax adjustments."

That is shameful. I was unaware. But I'm certainly not impersonating an officer. I'll bring my white card, and training certificates with me.

Also, you previously yold me that "negativity" has no place in this county, but, when I read yoiur facebook comments, its a CONSTANT negative campaign against Nancy Milliken. I think everyone is tired of the CONSTANT negative campaign. We learned that from Craig Brown doing it and look what we got.

Brandon.. The comments being made on here regarding your opota Certification and your agency commission aren't being made to "pick on you." Please understand that this county has been subjected to that type of thing before. Your own Columbiana County Democrat Chairman impersonated a law enforcement officer TWICE. Once to get out of a OVI and the other time, as a ODOT employee, he pulled over 2 college girls, told them he was a police officer, and demanded $ 50.00 for "bond". Needless to say, we look upon that pretty serioiusly in this county.

This started with your comment that included, "...as a peace officer, I know the importance of te drug task force..." Did you not think that someone would question how you managed to run a business, hold down a job, be a well involved political activist, nearly complete two bachelor's degrees, and attend an OPOTA academy all by the time you were 22 years old? That is beyond not sleeping...you need a time machine to do all of that!

Your math is fuzzy, you make grossly exaggerated claims, and you deflect legitimate questions with nonsense answers. You are a true politician. The only thing you are lacking is a really dumb constituency that will buy into it.

Nevermind, I know why you wouldn't commit to that earlier. You had already stated, "Special duty part time, full time auxiliary after I finish my apota training, Cleveland metro but moving to a private contractor this week hopefully." earlier that day at 11:26 am when I inquired about your status. You would have contradicted yourself with slips of present and future tenses.

...and we never did get clarification on "Cleveland metro".

"Anyone who is certified by the state as successfully completing the ohio peace officer training commission carries the title as long as they stay current with instruction "

Why didn't you just answer a simple "Yes." when I asked you 02/06/2014 at 12:08 pm, "So, your peace officer status is the commission you got to go through an OPOTA academy?"

Chapter 101 covers the General Assembly and Chapter 107 covers the Governor. They are both big chapters so if there is something in either of those that you want to use to try to maintain your line of fantasy, then please include the specific subsections.

I don't think it would make any difference if we had this conversation face to face. I hope you put this kind of passion and drive into your private sector life, and in that aspect I wish you all the luck in the world and hope to see you succeed. I think you'd be well served to put the vast majority of your focus into those projects.

Brandon, you've said quite a few ridiculous things on here. You essentially just lost the campaign for yourself because you let your inexperienced emotions take control of you. As MrConservative said, "You can write it off as no big deal, but if you're going to be running for public office, every single thing you do is under the microscope." If the people of Columbiana county didn't think Nancy was doing her job well, they wouldn't vote for her. Rather, she continuously gets re-elected. She will win this election... now its just a matter of by how many votes. Maybe 6 to 1... Sounds very realistic to me.

we felt it was a distraction, that things should be focused on me and not him, he was very amicable with it, but the reality is, I wanted to run my own show as well, win or lose, i want it to be my own responsibility. I don't think his issues made him unqualified to help, he's very active and has turned himself around a lot in a decade, but frankly, the message needs to be me. not him. And from how everyone sees me right now, i have a lot to do to get the real me out there. I too have made a lot of changes over the years. As the saying goes, you get more conservative as you age. I made mistakes in mahoning county. I don't know how much more i can blast them, but i wont be surprised if certain people dont give money to nancy to get at me. they're trying to hurt me, not help me. Guess they should be more vocal about it, because I don't like those said people, and I don't think anyone in columbiana county takes them seriously either.

Like I said, they better send a better actor next time. His scum bag campaign manager is Dem connected. Neither of them protect their social media accounts, they're both Obama lovers to the core. This is a big game and he thinks we're all morons.

Joseph, I hope you didn't buy a single line of his extensive "I'm party neutral" garbage. His company is called BLUE REVOLT, he worked for Bono's charity, 80% of his resume is in some way tied to the Democrat party. He's RUNNING as a Dem, if he's party neutral and running for a non partisan position, and saying he wants it to be a non partisan position, why wouldn't he run independent? Why would the MAHONING COUNTY DEM PARTY call on people to support a candidate in another county? He's probably been planted here by Dave Betras because they found what they thought was a vulnerable position and they certainly weren't going to clear a spot in their county for a 22 year old. He's lying at every turn. He might have thought we bought it, but I know I sure didn't.

just so you know... betras must not be THAT mad at you. On January 29, the Mahoning County Dem website asked everybody to get out and support your campaign
