Politicians have been known to shoot their selves in the foot occasionally, but I got admit, after reading of all this, this one did his own amputation.

Real troubling. All of this and we don't know anymore than we did before Dave made his historical visit. Still all those unanswered questions. Almost as if it was intentional. GrantMingus, Watchdog, Questioner, truth101, the rest, it sure wasn't from the lack of trying.

One thing absolutely certain no doubts about it. Anyone wishing to run against Mr. Nestic for his seat. He supplied you right here with all the ammo you will need to beat him hands down! And it is all in black and white and etched in stone!

Mr. Councilman Dave Nestic "leader of the free world" has stated: "So bottom line Grant - I work for the citizens, but I don't work for YOU."

L.M.A.O, OMG, the tears are rolling down my cheeks on that one. I can't believe he wrote that. But then again, what I have learned about this man through out these 224 comments with his participation. Not to surprised.

Grant, you apparently are not considered a citizen by Mr. Nestic's standards. Don't feel bad, I am in that classification along with a bunch of other people on here as well. So here is what we need to do. We need to petition Salem for a tax exempt status.

I don't think he understood what he wrote. Let me see if we can figure this out. He doesn't work for us but he works for us? Is that it?

Oh Mr. Nestic, I mean, really?

If you're going to make coming to this forum a habit, maybe you should solicit some advice from Cyndi on how to handle yourself. Peace out, bro.

You've also seemed to demonstrate something here that is far beyond what you claim to be here for. No matter how you see it, I can tell you that the public perception of this conversation that is now and forever burnt into the history of the internet, is that you're basically here to go at it with citizens, who are beneath you intellectually, aren't your employer in this capacity and you're really just sick of. That's how it's coming off, again, regardless of how you perceive it. It's almost like what we mentioned earlier about your time on council, study after study, no results. You continually say you're here to answer questions and provide accurate information, but for the most part you've refused to do that. You're a big part of the reason WHY the conversation just devolves. You should have just made your case and ducked out. Instead you got emotional, even egotistical and it came off very poorly.

No thank you, frankly I've lost respect for anything you could ever say to me as a public servant. Like I said, I think you ought to resign. I'd say your professionalism in this capacity is pretty well summed up by your "peace out" sign off.

So bottom line Grant - I work for the citizens, but I don't work for YOU. I laid out my position to the voters when I ran and mailed out 800 or 900 letters. I am doing what I said I would do in the letter, because I was elected to do that. I don't double check every decision. And, as is the case with all my fine fellow council members and the administration, we always consider what is best for the entire citizenry while deliberating and making decisions. Now, if you want a copy of the letter I sent I would be happy to send it to you. My email address was listed a few posts ago.

Grant, let me clarify that I said two things - I don't like the Attitude of "you work for me." And, I said we elect our leaders not our followers. I never said I don't work for the citizens. But I believe it works this way - when running for office a candidate lays out their position and what they plan to do if elected. If I agree with it I vote for him or her. I don't expect them to come back to me with every decision and ask what they should do. If my candidate doesn't win because more people liked the other guys position, then hey, that's the way it goes.

These are my last posts as I have spent more energy than expected on this and it seems to get no where. I came here because bloggers were demanding answers and my name was in the headline. I offered, and still offer to answer any questions to provide more accurate information, but the discussion just devolves.

If citizens were in a council meeting to voice their complaints, would your first question be "are you taxpayers", Nestic? You've embarrassed yourself here, to put it lightly. I'd take Watchdog's friendly, not threatening, advice and tread lightly if you'd like to keep your position. To be honest, I'd like to see you resign your position. I'd say the number of people behind me on that grows every time you post here, with the tone you've used to this point. As soon as you said you don't work for the people, you should have realized that you could do nothing but damage to yourself from there on and just quit.

What does the chamber have to do with anything?

I can be emailed at dave(at)salemward1(dot)com if you would like to take this offline.

By the way, the Salem news is not the chamber. A public news paper and nobody here is holding a gun to your head. Now are they?

Mr. Nestic states: "So am I concerned, sure. Wouldn't you be if someone you didn't know was anonymously coming at you with "you better listen to me!" attitude?"

I, did not, one time, demand "YOU better listen to me", now did I? Not one person has done that on here. I asked you three simple questions, that was it, you then proceeded to stir everybody up with everything you stated on here. You brought this on yourself with all the responses of criticism that followed.

You know Mr. Nestic. Maybe you need to stop always making it about you and start making it about other people. You might just get cooperation.

WatchDog, there is a reason there is a panic button in city council chambers. Some people get pretty unpredictable and worse things have happened in city councils over just zoning disputes. So am I concerned, sure. Wouldn't you be if someone you didn't know was anonymously coming at you with "you better listen to me!" attitude?

It is CWard1 because I couldn't remember the password to DaveNestic and this is the one that worked. Also I am happy to list the things I said I would work on in the last election, I was elected and that is exactly what I am working on. Sorry if you don't like it, but I guess there were more people that did.

This is unbelievable. CWard1, whomever CWard1 is, and/or, IF, this is really Councilman Dave Nestic, in which we have no way of even confirming that it is indeed, Councilman Dave Nestic. For all we know this could be somebody in Ward1 writing all of this or somebody pretending to be Councilman Dave Nestic.

If this is Mr. Nestic, let me clear this up for you. There is NO "or what". As hard as you tried to take it there. It is not a threat unless I was to write....as example of the following:

"if I was you, I would tread lightly, OR ELSE" then you would have something to moan and cry about.

It still wouldn't be a "threat" of violence that apparently you are paranoid about and continue to harp on. Even when you cleverly tried so hard to portray that horrible threat image.

Which would INDEED give you and our local police department every reason to investigate it, therefore allowing you ACCESS to who I am. Your only intent.

KS I don't recall ever turning down grant money that the fire department achieved. There may have been a concern expressed over what would happen when the grant money ran out and if the city could afford to then keep the staff at the level required of the grant, but we took it anyhow and the situation has worked out.

I really do want to catch up on all I've missed, but not this evening. But what I do want to say is, The Audacity of the Repub. party still never ceases to amaze me. When the Fire Chief acquired a grant for over 300,000.00 to help return and keep laid off firemen to the dept. The Repubs. carried on and on about how we can't depend on grant money to get us through, and then what happens when it runs out. NOW CWard1 says, somebody's going to get the money, why not us. .... REALLY??!!! You weren't saying that 3 yrs. ago. You wanted to give that money away CWard1. You wanted to let it slide right down State Street to the next community. NOW you Repubs WANT whatever you can get your grubby hands on!! What happened to NO BIG GOVERNMENT?? Isn't that the platform you all are supposed to stand on?? You stand on it as long as someone else has their hand out, or is in need, or is elderly, or is a child in a low income home. Those people you want to continue to squash.

Regardless, what question have I not answered and are there any other questions?
