Watchdog, a city tabletop exercise was recently done, by volunteers and local HAMs. The private sector steps up in Salem when a void is noticeable. Ema was giving free stuff last week to a few people in Salem for pr I guess. Not one single exercise has been done by this agency since the new hiring. We spend over 100k a year for people to sit at a desk and commissioners approve. I wonder why? It will take years for this agency to look like other counties. Newbold or Halleck and any of the other "in charge" are not allowed to use the ham radios they own in an emergency. Not one of them has FCC clearance. If an emergency occurs and Kemp is not available, all they can do by law is listen. These are the people in charge.

Please, please, please, oh please Mayor Berlin and City council put together our own EMA for our community. It is going to be badly needed for the protection of our community in a major disaster or emergency.

The best protection is an agency that functions on it's own. Dodsen and Long had no problem submitting and getting grants. They also produced an emergency plan approved by FEMA numerous times. This agency is now unable to function and the area knows it. In an actual emergency which county will be in charge of us?
