Of course they do but spending is an addiction and legislators won't stop on their own!

This statement is asinine.

Poverty is created when incomes fall below minimum living standards

The middle class continues to shrink while the incomes of the top 5% continue to increase,

THe CEO of facebook made over 2 billion .How much is enough ?

President Obama saved the Auto industry. There can be no question of that by any same individual. If you think Ohio would be better off without those jobs then you truly live in a fairyland.

EATTHERICH, You are correct. It does not take long to see where notSocialist policies and ideas come from. Fortunately as was shown in the last election he is definitely in the minority. As more and more young people come of age and begin voting in national and local elections you will see people like notSocialist go the way of the dinosaur and his caveman buddies.

Govt doesn't create jobs. It regulates them to bankruptcy. Steel coal, has to carry car makers on our dime. People who are allowed enough freedom to create wealth hire workers. When was the last time a poor man signed your paycheck?

"In 2007, just before the so-called "Great Recession" started, 13.1 percent of Buckeye State residents lived in households with less than poverty-rate incomes, according to the Census Bureau." Why did the writer use 2007 instead of 2008? President Obama did not take office until January of 2009. The answer is very simply by 2008 the poverty rate in Ohio had risen from 13.1% to 15.2% and was accelerating rapidly. President Obama was able to stabilize the economy slowing the slide into poverty. This reminds me of a student and an instructor flying a remote control airplane. When the student loses control and the plane is 20 feet off the deck diving into the ground, he hands the remote to the instructor and then asks the instructor why he crashed the plane. Aircraft barreling toward the ground do not make a u-turn in 20 feet. Economies do not turn around on a dime. Everyone with any sense knows this and to suggest that Liberal Policies increase Poverty is nothing but

Speaking of old dinosaurs, how about the "you are a bigot" statement?

You had to blow the dust off that one before using it. Finding racism everywhere you want to find it isn't going to solve the country's problems, either.

When the "wealthy" horde large amounts of money then a shortage is created and the value of the dollar goes up. When the government gives away large amounts of money a surplus is created and the value of the dollar goes down. Both circumstances are feeding each other. The more money the government gives away the more money the "poor" will need to get by. The "wealthy" will horde more money in order to remain wealthy and that will cause the government to give away even more. So on, and so on. Next thing you know, everything costs twice as much as it did 15-20 years ago and we still have "wealthy" and "poor" people.

The story that "Liberal policies increase poverty" is blatantly false. When I pointed out the fact that the author of the article used phony numbers to make their case, I was told that I am confused? Just what am I confused about? By 2008 the poverty rate in Ohio had risen from 13.1% to 15.2%. There are several places that you can find this data and yet the author used the 13.1 number to make their case. Furthermore as I stated in my response, the U.S. Economy does not turn around on a dime. To anyone that believes I am confused? Just what part of that do I need to explain again?

"Speaking of old dinosaurs, how about the "you are a bigot" statement?" I am not the one that used that term, but since I am old enough to know its meaning, I agreed with the writer that in the case of 'notSocialist', he had hit the nail on the head.

I have been post here for quite some time and nonSocialist is not a bigot nor has ever said anything to make one believe that.

Why is it so important to "win" that calling names and labeling becomes ok...well it isn't ok. Stop it. Your comment counts but twisting comments from another to make things ugly is wrong and I will fight for all to have free speach but the ugly must stop.

Kozy62, First off try reading the board! I did not call nutSwastika a bigot, I did agree with the person who did after nutSwastika called President Obama 'boy'! Are you always so selective in who you admonish for name calling. When nutSwastika refers to President Obama as 'boy' When he says stuff like 3D, Alinski's model student, you have nothing to say. You are so biased, I am not sure I can stomach breakfast with you!

I think it is wrong when nonsocialists calls President Obama 'boy'. I also think it is wrong when you say things like " I didn't agree with his agenda and felt he was not qualified, but, I didn't know he was going to lie about everything. It is now lies to cover lies and lies to cover scandals or blaming others or he knows nothing...not a legecy to be proud of.

A shame he will be remembered for his failings and harm to our country."

When President Obama said he would get us out of Iraq, was he lying? When President Obama said he would do every thing he could to get binLaden, was he lying? Answer the questions! Do sit there and pretend I did not ask them! This President has a legacy he can be proud of. I am proud of him. This President does not lie about everything. I believe comments like "A shame he will be remembered for his failings and harm to our country." are Un-American and I believe you should be ashamed for saying such things.

I believe Obama had no idea what he was saying or doing when it came to Iraq or Binladen...the leaving Iraq was handled poorly and Binladen was good military...you want to give him those two, go ahead. Do you think Benghazi was handled well?
