October 24, 2013

SALEM — There’s a big pharmacy sign in the basement, so Rod Herron knows the building once housed a corner drug store. That was a long time before it became a tire store and the Salem Sports Shop....

Didn't a previous article state a EuroGryo was planned to go in with the Holiday Inn Express?

It is good to see someone taking an interest in the building. It was beginning to be a big eyesore.

Where ever it goes, as far as delivery places go, EuroGyro is fantastic. I'm excited to see them get it up and running.

rpmwwe No The restaurant going alongside the Holiday Inn will be owned by the same two working on the Salem Sport Shop, but will not be a EuroGyro. The plan is for it to be a steak house with a banquet hall with it.

Yea!

I don't know you, but thanks Mr. Herron.

I hope both this and the Holiday Inn Express finish with no unforeseen delays.

No matter your opinion.

These type of things can only be a plus to your city.

Hope they get that Motel started real soon. Salem needs one

Yeah, I have a bunch of relatives coming out--had them stay in Canfield last time, Columbiana the time before. Having them in town will be so much better.

Very happy to see the improvements. Considering the location it was getting embarrassing how run down the building was getting. Anxious to see the end result (painted brick drives me nuts). I am not a bar person but I am sure I will indulge in a gyro from time to time. I was an occasional patron of the one in Akron while I was in school there.

No, they have their own money, which would lead me to believe that you'd like to eat them.

Ha!

But they do have successful businesses other places and I'm sure profit from them is going into this one--way too hard to start up a business by having to fix up first.

It's neat that they are using things like the tin ceiling and putting up memorabilia. Everyone should be happy.

Now, come on Grant. You answered before I did. But it was a good line. Plus it pointed out how those that are successful and are going to do something, do it without asking for a handout.

Nothing better than a gyro! Takes me back to my Ohio State days. And I'm hoping at least a couple of those 16 beers on tap are a good dark stout beer. Can wait to see this restaurant open.
