LISBON — Few of the effects of the federal government shutdown, which started on Tuesday, have local implications. But that fact seemed lost on some people. When the U.....

NS there may be humor in the story but the sad part is that there are actually people out there that have this kind of dependency on big government. They have them convinced that if the federal government is reduced, that the world would come to an end. I haven't really noticed a thing myself. Let's shut down some more and see if we really miss it. Maybe we are on to something here. Let's shut it down a little at a time until we get the essential level and then keep it there. sounds like a good plan to me. : )

Wow...

If this proves anything it's that the media is borderline criminal. In an attempt to point a finger they've spent very little time explaining it to people, and how big of a deal it ISN'T. It makes me sad to know what people are this misinformed.

Quote from article. "Monday, the federal government went into a shutdown, closing non-essential departments."

What part of non-essential don't you understand? I think you might want to check out some of the things you put on your list as being closed. Your the perfect example of someone that likes to complain about government waste and then cries when steps are taken to cut the waste. Talk about brilliant comments!!! Tell your Democrat buddies in the senate Harry Reid and company to compromise. They are the ones that would not budge on their disaster they call Obamacare.

Ask Boehner why everything sent back from the senate was never brought to the floor for a vote by all or both parties,

Everything that went to the senate was rejected by a vote including republican

So maybe before spouting off all the time get the facts first

Did any of your republicans buddies offer to stick around instead of going on a 5 week recess,

The coming back and announcing there wasn t enough to time to neg.

So we stuck with another temp CR.

Did hear them whine and cry because the senate wouldn't produce a spending plan.

They got it in late March or April ,

Did take it to conference " NO "

STUCK WITH ANOTHER CR?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

We've been stuck with a CR because your boy Harry Reid will not pass a budget. The House passes budgets. The Senate hasn't passed one since Obama has been in office. They won't do it to him, it's much harder to ram through suicidal legislation that way.

As usual Grant spouts off at mouth again.

The senate presented a budget to the house in April.

Although Sen, Murary requested 18 time to go to conference, The house refused,

The fact that all you little buddies failed to address the issue before going on their 5 week cipatel and left no time but another CR..

I guess the house wants to go to conference now. Of course the only thing they'd consider is republicans ideas and only if the republican cacus will vote for it .

Anything else is put in the trash can

Just like all the proposals passed by a by partisian vote in the senate and sent to the house,

THe spinless one wouldn't even bring it up for a total house vote.
