I love how the Republican party is supposed to be about smaller government, yet all this administration does is form more committees and pay more people for things that have never been paid before or committees never used before. Their goal for smaller government instead keeps growing and costing more and more.

Sep-04-13 3:32 PM Service/Safety Director Ken Kenst be appointed to the commission until a permanent replacement can be found!

Hmmm...didn't realize he had all that free time to spare. Maybe we can spare the taxpayers some money and make his regular position part time and if he is qualified to sit on that board put him in the position.

Good points KSbug. It is easy to talk about smaller less expensive government, but when the rubber meets the road we have to look at what they are actually doing. Let's see what is next? Should we pay every board that is in the city? How many paid people does it take to govern 12,000 people that live within an area that is about a 1 1/2 mile radius. We need to shrink the number of paid city administrative employees not increase them. The cost of government just keeps getting to be more and more.

And to think people thought it was blasphemy when they wanted to combine Service Director and Safety Director into 1 position a few years ago (even though most cities have done it as 1 position forever)
